This is my second full year bow hunting since I was a kid. I shoot a bob lee take down, 70# @ 28". My arrows are gt trads with 100 grain insert, 100 grains of screw in weights, 125 grain points. Last year I used magnus stinger buzzcuts. I killed my first deer with a bow with that set up.

Sometimes at work I get bored and search amazon for stuff I have to have. I received a 3 pack of 125gr snuffers today. I tested them with the buzzcuts. They fly the same, great. I am getting about 2" additional penetration with the buzzcuts.

Is there any compelling reason to switch?  I'll be hunting deer. I'll probably use the snuffers for ground hogs and stick with the buzzcuts for deer.

I don't think you would have any trouble with those specs with either head.

You won't have any problems.  I was just out shooting in the twilight in my yard and it was getting a bit dark to shoot, should have realized light was done for, but my last shot went a bit high, skimmed the back of my deer target, passed through the corrugated aluminum siding on my shed and then 2" completely through the side of a Coleman cooler that was 2 feet from the inside of the shed wall.  The bow was a Bob Lee 45@28 with 10gpp and at 22yds.  Do not underestimate the power of our stick and string.

Thanks. I tend to overthink stuff. I'll keep using the buzzcuts. I know they work.

Why not use the snuffers? You won't have any issues putting one through a deer with that setup and it will leave lots of blood on the ground. If I shot that much weight, I'd go with the big 3 balde for sure. It's for sure going to punch a bigger hole through the deer.

Stump73

Possibly getting better penetration in buzz cuts be the 2blade. 3 blade you have more surface area do to the3rd blade. If your shooting that heavy the snuffers wont have any problem slicing through a deer. Plus the snuffers are easier to sharpen.

I'll make sure I can get the snuffers shaving sharp and give them a try.

You are shooting enough horsepower that either will work.  Great username!

Just shoot 1 animal w/ a Snuffer and you'll see why there is a loyal following. Also, you put enough time into this, you'll find the 160gr Snuffer really has some advantages.

Thanks for the advice. I shot the snuffers again tonight for about an hour. They flew great. The only negative was I defletched one arrow early on. I've ordered more. I'll check out the 160s next year. Our archery season starts the 5th of September, so I don't want to change point weight right now.

Thanks!

The 3 snuffers I have are now officially sharp. I've got more coming. If I do my part with the bow I'll soon have hero pictures to share.
