Duco Alternative

Ok, I have made boat loads of arrows and fletched with Duco. Many of the arrows have been clear coated with gasket laquer. Problem is, I cannot seem to find Duco locally anymore.
Anyone use fletch time platinum or other readily available glues on gasket laquer?
What are my options?

You can get Duco for $3.50 from 3 Rivers, or $3.00 from Amazon. Still the best, and certainly the cheapest thing out there for gluing feathers to wood arrows, IMO.

I have switched to Saunders NPV glue for just about all my fletching. It works over GL, water based poly, Fletch-Laq., cap wraps. I liked Ducco a lot, but it is same price as NPV glue now. Ya, I have to have it shipped in but When I make an order I include a tube.
You might try True-Value Hardware. I see it here in AZ. Some states have laws that prohibit it's sale in certain areas.

Last time I bought Duco (it was a while back) I got it at Ace Hardware. I just checked their website, and it still shows they sell it, so I would imagine it would be available in most of the stores too.

If you have a family dollar store around you they sell it for around $1.25

I am a Duco fan as well for fletching my wood arrows. I never liked the oversized spout which will make a sloppy glue line.

They sell small glue bottles at craft stores that have a perfect spout for making a precise glue line on a feather. I have one of these glue bottles and haven't fletched out of a Duco tube in years. The bottle will hold two tubes of Duco.

The picture makes the glue bottle look huge but it is actually quite small.

This has been driving me nuts too. First my local Walmart stopped carrying it and now I can't get it at the local Family Dollar. It appears to no longer be available locally for me either. No ACE Hardware anywhere around here.

I just can't bring myself to pay $3.00 plus shipping for something I used to buy locally for .97 cents.

Thanks for the input guys. I am in the same boat as Jerry. Used to buy at Walmart, then Dollar General. They have both quit carrying it at my local stores. Hate the thought of paying shipping on top of the price. I have friends a couple hours away from me that can get it at their Dollar General store. Maybe I will have to have them start bootlegging it to me lol.

As far as an applicator tip, I use a tip sold by Testors (the model people). It just goes on the duco tube with a press fit. Some tubes have a smaller tip, but you can just trim it back a bit to make a more snug fit. The testors tips come in packs of 5 or so. I just put a push pin in the hole to seal the tube when not in use. Seems to work really well as I have been doing it for years.

Hobby lobby had duco last I bought about a year ago. I went back to Fletch tite because of the nozzle problem, but with two solutions offered I'll be using duco again.

I also use Saunders NPV glue for wood, aluminum, and carbon. Switched years ago and have never felt the need to change as it works so well.

Do not ave the tips,but do have 2 kinds of plastic glue bottles. One has different sizes of metal tips.
