Rogers got a new bow, his confidence you'd say was boosted

Ron shows us a bow from the 60s, some say hes almost roosted

Ones from times of old, ones from times of somewhat new

Both respected men, as we watch our interest grew

A challenge has been laid a fun one of sorts

Will the competitors be draped in wool or skimpy buckskin shorts?

Most of us cant make it so anxiously we wait

For those that will be there, we need updates, please don't be late   :campfire:

Looking forward to following this    :archer:

This thread gets my blood pumping a little.  There is nothing like some good competition.  That feeling of the disconnect between your mind and motor skills.  The fight to try and bring them back together.  Your heart starts racing, your muscles tense up your breathing shallows. Man I'm getting pumped up thinking about it.

Deep breaths, Deep breaths, Deep breaths.  I'm having flash backs haha.  Have fun guys.

I'm sure this will be a fair competition. Nobody will pick up a stout stick on the range and break it while the other guy is drawing. I can't imagine anyone talking while the other guy is shooting. For sure nobody would say 'your brace height looks a little low' on the first target or 'wow that targets farther away than it looks'. No, these are true gentleman with the utmost respect for the integrity of the competition.

Ray,

I've always preferred the "Hey, where do you put your thumb on your string hand when you shoot"...

Then watch the spraying begin...

Elm Hall is my favorite shoot and I will be tied up with about 35 of my wife's relatives coming from Germany and Holland that week for a family reunion. BUMMER!

I agree with all of those above who posted that these are 2 honorable men who would never consider mind games to influence the outcome, so I will be anxiously awaiting the results of this match.

My $20 for St Judes is riding on Ron (we do share a first name after all, even if we don't shoot at the same level).

No. Wait. I'll make it $30 if Ron wins and $20 if he lets Roger win.

look forward to seeing the out come since I will be at elm hall for this great shoot out and would gladly throw in $20.00 bucks in the winners name

Too bad Sagamore doesn't have the clay pigeon shoot anymore there they could shoot it out where everyone could watch and "cheer them on"  ;)

Ah yes, Denny Every's 'turkey shoot' was always good for spectator's.

Ahhhhh...The Turkey Shoot...what great fun.

If you look closely at the cover of this Michigan Bowhunters Magazine between the title and the top of the sign you will see the "tom" turkey flying thru the air. I was lucky enough to catch that action shot of my son doing what he does best.

Ignore the autograph, that was my wife's doing

Roger that plan worked like a charm...thanks for "distracting" the big guy so the rest of us can be in line for dinner ahead of him!    :D

My only boast is I started this by saying  " I'm going to beat Ron LaClair "

Don't worry guys....if you don't realize. ..Ron and I  are very close friends.  We bust on each other every night about shooting,  fishing, not answering the phone quick enough...we're good. No need to get biblical    :bigsmyl:

That said.....we both love competition,  we both shoot our best with a little ribbing going on.So I have no choice.  The Big Dog is going down. For tart apple pie lovers everywhere! !!!

Well if your representing the tart apple pie I'm rooting for you  (plus Lobo is at Denton Hill so he can't see this).  I'm still thinking there's a dark horse (Greg) in this race and he's going to take my daughter to a beautiful thirty target local range this morning and then Roger will be here mid week for our own little warm-up with Greg at the same range.  You boys may want to hold off on your final bets until the warm-up tests are done.

Greg damn near won last year....and he's training hard this year because he drew a bear tag. If Greg wins ( which is absolutely probable ) my donation to St Jude stands

Ron called me after shooting his bow 2 nights ago. He said "the only way you can beat me is with a crossbow and a solid rest "   :help:

Hang in there buddy. Ron's feeling vulnerable so he's already starting the mind games.   ;)

THIS ---- this is better then dinner and a movie.

Sounds like what good friends, good hunting buddies especially, and deer camp banter is all about!   :jumper:
