With all the threads showing up on everyone's new Toelke Whips and Pikas, I decided it's about time I posted some pics of my new Whip as well.  I decided to go with more of a black-out look with the phenolic riser and black glass on the limbs. Dan used a little cocobolo to accent the tips, thumb rest and front overlay.  I think it looks sleek and stealthy.  I've had it for about a month and a half now, guess I've just been having too much fun shooting the heck out of it to sit and down and show it off. It's a 2 piece, 64" and 50# @ 28. It zips a heavy arrow nicely and it is going to be my go-to bow for my Colorado pack-in elk hunt this September. I've always been a recurve guy, but the Whip and I have become solid partners.  When I do my part it does its thing.

Thanks guys, as I look at the pics I posted, I started wondering how cool it would be if Dan could stain/paint the edge of the bamboo limb laminations black. Total black-out.

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Nice bow!  What grip material is that?

The rubber grip is called a Shur-grip. I picked it up from 3 Rivers.  I really like it, especially with these hot summer days. They also have one with stippled bumps on it.
I've heard of guys doing basically the same thing with a bicycle inner tube as well.
