I've always admired Marian Anderson's print, "Saving powder" A mountainman who has a flintlock muzzleloader but he takes a turkey with a primitive bow, supposedly to save powder.

That print speaks to me, and I want to step right into his boots....except I have never had a pair of boots like that. I've got all of the other paraphernalia, weapons, buckskins, fur hats and frocks, but I didn't have the boots....

So this got me to thinking. Anyone got some good historically correct websites, info, etc regarding what kind of bow a trapper might carry with him. also, any bowyers out there that would be making a fur period correct bow.
