Just got my therapy bow in the mail from Dan...Toelke Pika 54" 40#@28!  Riser and overlays are highly figured curly quilted maple with black glass. I love black glass for hunting plus it really makes the maple stand out.  It is as light as a feather.  Only problem is I won't be able to shoot it for another 6-8 weeks due to my shoulder recovering for torn rotator cuff surgery.  Dan was kind enough to send some wood scraps for a matching knife handle.  I'll post a few of the knife once I get back to pounding hot steel...tippit

The pictures just don't high light all the vivid curls in the maple...

I generally hate black glass, but I'm really digging it recently with maple!

Tippit, I wish you a speedy recovery. Shooting the pika is extremely rewarding. I love how the bow feels, weighs, looks. Yours is beautiful. I agree. The contrast between the black glass and the wood really pops.

Pretty bow! Hope the therapy goes well so you soon shoot this baby. I lucked out. I've been in therapy for a couple of weeks but the doc does not think my shoulder will need surgery. The therapist is allowing me to use my bow as part of the treatment, but for right now, I must stick to low poundage. Maybe your therapist will be able to work the bow into your rehab regimen.

Can you write that off as a medical expense?  That is the kind of therapy we all need  ;)
