The circle of life is an amazing trip, thanks for sharing!

Ron LaClair

Andy I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing, I know that you two shared a deep love for bow hunting. I'm sure that was a real high for you when you took that dandy buck with his bow last fall. His spirit will live on in you and be passed down to your son.

My own dad has been gone for many years but I still have fond memories of the times I had with him hunting and fishing. He shared his love for the outdoors with me when I was just a tad and I did the same with my two sons.

If you and your family ever get to Michigan I hope you find time to stop in the shop again.

Well written and expressed.  I lost my Dad, "Pops", almost three years ago and hearing your story makes me feel even more blessed to know that we had about a year before a terminal brain tumor took him from us.

We had a blast that last year together and I catch myself laughing at some of the things we got into and then a since of pride comes over in how he handled his death sentence.

CONGRATS on the baby boy!!  Little ones are a blast and you will definitely understand your dad a little more after having one.

Thank-you so much for your story!!!!!

In a culture where Dads seem to be increasingly absent (either physically or just emotionally), your story is especially touching.  I'm so sorry for your loss but happy for the awesome father you had and all the memories that can never be taken from you.
Congrats on a son of your own!  Thanks so much for sharing.
Blessings.

PS  Awesome buck!

Andy-sorry for the loss of your dad as he was a good man, I can tell. Heck of a nice buck he sent your way too!
Big Tiger fan here and seen you play a few times at Comerica Park. Godspeed to you and family!

Andy,

After the fact, I so often find that the difficulties of life with its twists and turns end up being the camouflage that blessings come wrapped within.

I was sorry to hear of your career-ending surgery, but thankful to see that it ended up bringing you home at JUST the right time to share a few days that you will treasure forever.

I'm sorry for your loss, but hope you can use your great dad's legacy to be that kind of father to your new son.

Thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you for the story Andy. Well written.  Congratulations on your baby news.  Hold on tight because your ride is about to fast forward.

Here's one of my daughters at around 4 years old at a shoot in Grayling, MI where the girls learned they had an "Uncle Ron" LaClair:

And of course they grow all too quickly.  If you get to Michigan a few times to see 'Uncle Ron', he can help hook you up with cool stuff like this at Christmas for the young man:

Thanks Andy. As the father of a 16 year old I am doing the best I can, hoping for a similar story.

We miss you on the field! Was at Comerica the other day wondering how you were doing.

Love the story and felt the emotion in the writing of it.  The words penned the thoughts of the heart and the passing of your father will leave a void that's hard to fill.

Great story and very sorry for your loss. Remember all the fun you had with your Dad and pass that on to your little ones. They will remember it someday too. (Throw the baseball around a little too!)
