My treestands end up in White Pine and Spruce often. Any one know a trick to removing the pitch from steps, stand, etc.?

Rub real butter onto it then wash hands

Barbeque briquette fluid works excellent without any greasy residue butter, margarine, or WD-40 leaves behind.... no smell either.

Oil dissolves pine resin. I dissolve pine resin in oil to make ointments.
If I get it on my hands I just wash my hands with the wife's olive or veggy oil, then wash the oil off with regular soap. Works a charm.

Google pine salve or pine pitch salve. I also use it in a lanolin based rash cream I make for our kids. I also use it to make a leather conditioner similar to montana pitch blend, but I make mine a with a little more wax. Or sometimes I just buy montana and melt it and add some wax if I'm feeling lazy...
