Can you guys that use them recommend a ghillie suit? I need one with the bow arm and chest cut out as my form brings the string very close to body. I may just wind up building one in the end but, wanted to see what you guys thought about some commercial models.

I use the Marc Anthony ghillie suit......it has the bow arm and chest area already trimmed out.

How do you like it? is it very hot? Light weight? quiet ect? any thing you do or don't like about it?

I'd suggest you build one.  You can make it less dense and lighter.  Really only need to break human shape.

They are pretty hot and heavy in the commercial form.

Just my opinion though

Got this one from All Predator Calls .
Was able to clean off the bow arm very easy , also removed some from the chest area on the bow arm side . The arm guard just keeps the material out of the way .

I like the models that are built on the 3/4" netting. That way you can add more thread as you lose them over time and you can add local vegetation as needed.

That being said, two brands come to mind; Rothco and Bushrag. You can get a Rothco jacket, pants and hood for under $100. Bushrag is more expensive but it much better made as it has a bug suit liner with the netting sewn onto it and the threads tied onto the netting. I dug around on the internet and got a Bushrag jacket and pants for $115 to my door. The downside to the Bushrag is that the hood is attached to the jacket. When you turn you head, the hood doesn't turn so you find yourself looking at the inside of it. An easy fix to this was to simply cut the hood off.

I trim my suits myself that way they are done the way I want them and I'm not paying someone a lot of money for something I can do on my own.

Bushrag synthetic Kit....I bought two terrain mixes to match my most hunted location.  Been about 6 feet from a doe.  She knew something was there, couldn't smell me, eventually she relaxed and meandered way.  Of course I was set up my shot angles in another direction.

You cannot beat Rancho Safari for quality. I prefer the longcoat over the pant/top combination.Buy it and trim to suit your needs.    :archer:

i have the one from redrock, I think I got it from sportsmansguide.
I think I paid around 50 bucks for the 3/4 coat, comes down to about your knees. and I added some artificial leaves to my outline and my homemade boonie. just trim arm and chest for clearance. also , I cut the hood off.

Another vote for the rancho safari long coat. Just trim the chest and arm as needed. It works great.
