We just wrapped up the production of this Safari Elite recurve and it turned out beautiful. We ran into a lot of technical issues and set backs when building this bow, but in the end we were able to push through; get the bow done and ship it out of the shop to its new home. The woods for the bow mainly consist of Bubinga, East Indian Rosewood, blood wood, maple and hickory.

That's a beauty! What made this bow harder than the rest?

The colors of the hickory didn't look right with the riser colors. Finally we found a new batch of hickory that matched this riser perfect. (We do have a great looking set of limbs that will look great with the right riser in the shop.) Sometimes grain and color just isn't a great match. Not often but when it happens you need to find another board that matches better.

Looks good to me bro.     ....

Have you ever played with color tinting in your clear coating Mike?

I had some maple bows that were just too bright that i toned down and married the contrasting woods together nicely doing that.... Your auto clear coating suppliers can help you with tinting that is compatible.... It was kinda fun to play with...
