Got me a new blade .
It's a G I Ka-Bar that is new and never issued . Got it for $75.00 , just couldn't pass it up .
I have been wanting one but they can be a little expensive . I have seen them in Army Surplus stores for $110.00 to $150.00 and some of them have been issued and not in good condition .
This will be nice for trimming that little branch that just might be in the way of a shot .

It should serve you well, My Brother!!!!!

I have had 2, in my lifetime...

The first, I bought from the PX at Camp Lejeune in 1979, while I was in Infantry School. I carried it for 6 years, all over the world. It was passed on to a young Marine, leaving for his 1st of 4 tours, in Iraq. It served him well & kept him safe... He fortunately made it home unscathed!!!!! Unfortunately  I've lost touch with him, after his Grandparents passed on...

The 2nd, Was given to me by my good friend & Brother, Ken Mowrey (adkmountianken) It will be handed down to my son Tyler, when he joins the Navy to be a Navy Corpman.

A man can't ask, for a finer knife!!!!!
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

The 1095 steel KA BAR uses takes a really nice durable edge.  Branches won't stand a chance  :)

Very nice. I picked up the smaller version of yours about seven years ago. It's got the leather handle with brown leather sheath. I carry it a lot and it holds a super sharp edge. Its stamped usmc. It's actually my favorite fixed blade. I had to pay thirty seven dollars for it then at a local surplus dealer. Boy am I glad I did!! They're high and I've yet to see another. Hope you enjoy yours too.

I have the same knife but in leather . Great knife!

Love my Ka-Bar. It was a gift from a great buddy of mine before I went out to Alaska to work as a fly fishing guide.  That knife helped me cut alders, dispose of game and added self reassurance should you get in a situation where you needed to defend yourself. Great knife- Enjoy

Mine has been 'round the world, in peace and war!

I carried one as a Diver in the Navy. Good knives with a lot of history.
As an FYI, the tang is not as wide as the blade so don't try to use it as a pry bar. (This is from experience..    :(  )

Congrats on your purchase.

You don't need me to tell you so, but they're a great knife.

I had one with a leather wrapped handle for years, and used the heck out of it. I gave it to my Girlfriends Son five or six years ago, and now my five year old Grandson is asking when he can have it.

I want one of the Navy models but like you haven't wanted to pay what I've seen them go for in good condition. I also want a Navy Cutlass, Chiefs used to have them as part of their dress uniform but they took them away long before I made Chief!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I have the one issued to me in 1966. I snuck it home in my dirty socks when I returned from Nam. The sheath was jungle rotted so I made a new one. I retired it some time ago. It earned a rest.

These are the two that I own.The top one is a WWII era,USN MK2,made by the B.M.Co.It was given to me by my grandfather, about 1960 and I about wore that thing out, carrying it every time I went in the woods for the next several years.I recently refurbished it and it's razor sharp and still ready to work.

The bottom, leather sheath model is a Vietnam era,US Conetta version that a friend in the Marines brought back, brand new,in 1970.
