I was just wondering if someone could post pictures of there Cocbolo risers. I'm on the list for a Shrew longbow in the fall of 2008,and thought that Cocobolo would make a pretty riser. What do you tradgangers think? Thanks for your opinions.

Cocobolo is my favorite riser wood especially when combined with yew or osage limbs.  I had a longbow with cocobolo riser and juniper limbs that looked sharp as well.

Top bow is cocobolo with zebra wood and some bloodwood inbetween layers. The bottom bow is solid cocobolo.

Bodork

This is cocobolo with an ebony stripe. the ebony has purpleheart on both sodes but it is hard to see in the picture. The limbs are curley maple.

WESTBROOK

Robertson Fusion LB, Cocobola with red elm veneers. Just got Purist LB from Dick today, same with Yew veneers.

Not my bow, but is the one I forwarded to Black Widow when I ordered my Cocobolo riser Osage limb PTFX.  I'll post pics when I get it in Late December/Early January...Mike

Should have written that I told Black Widow I'd be a happy boy if they could find me a piece of Cocobolo as nice as this one.

These are two R/D bows that I made recently. The first one is Cocobolo with Osage split by a mosaic stripe, the other is Cocobolo with Bocote also split with a mosaic stripe.

Check out LBR's page (recurves.com). There are photographs of riser & limb combinations.

I did a Coco riser & Pacific Yew limbs.  Quite a beauty.
