Birdseye or curly maple...like the contrast on Steve's Eaglewing above.
The scent of Autumn is like food to the hunters soul.

I like plain bows, and have a Kanati with a walnut dymondwood handle and caramel brown glass I kinda like.
Chechen, Shedua, Kingwood, and Bolivian Rosewood look good too, imo.

Groves used to make a lot of bows with brown glass. Their risers were a combo of bubinga and shedua...made for very handsome bows.
The best things in life....aren't things!

Yew, Maple, Osage, walnut.... - lots of beautiful north american woods whose nuances and subtleties will be brought out best with brown glass.

I am trying Brazilian Rosewood on a Shelton I just ordered.

Really prefer something figured with a little dark brown to match the limbs.  Top choices for me, in order, would be zebrawood, goncalvo alves, and bacote.

Here is a new combo with the caramel glass, not sure yet but I've got some copperhead skins if I'm not liking the end result.

Purpleheart, leopard wood and yew belly veneers!

Here is Bocote/Pau Ferro with caramel and dark brown glass.

Zirikote with osage nice kombi

Trying to get the bow a part of me!

Hopewell Tom

Not much point in adding anything, looks like it's narrowed down quite well...
Good luck.
Another idea is get Dan (I presume you're talking about your new Pika) to do his art and see those results. Those boys turn out some pretty impressive stuff.
