Shooting about 51# at my DL.

Yes. I really like 'em!

32.5" arrow at 29.5" draw. 52 grain long insert and 125 grain points. 4" parabolic. Shoots from my Cayuga 35# @ 28". Prefer the 1535 at 30.5 though, with same insert and point.

Reason I'm asking is because I have 30inch with standard insert and 50 gr weight with 125 head and they show weak for my 48lb longbow I pull about 28.5.  Will taking 1/2inch off stiffen it up you think????

kevsuperg

Cutting them should stiffen them but it seems carbons respond better to point weight changes . I don't cut my carbons anymore.
I'm shooting a HH Wesley longbow 50#@28"
30" 3555 standard insert 175gr point , 3 Fletch 4" parabolic. Love em.
From my bear Alaskan 50#@28" I have to move up to a 300gr point to get Good flight and accuracy.

I draw to 28.  I shoot in the low 50's for poundage (52, 53).....I shoot a GT 3555 cut to 29.75.  I use 200 grains of point weight,  4 4inch shield cut fletch, glued to an 8 inch wrap.  Easton super 3d nock.  Arrow weight is 530 grains.  They fly like a dream and are proven in the field.
Cutting off a half inch can REALLY stiffen your arrow....be careful.  I would go with cutting less ( 1/4 at a time) till you get it nailed.

beyondmyken

The other option to increase the dynamic spine would be to be a 1 to 2 inch aluminum footing on the front end of the arrow.   2117 work on 35/55

Bladepeek

I find the 3555s respond much better to length change than to point weight change. Cutting 1/2" off will make a huge change. I would take off no more than 1/4" at a time and when it starts looking close, take off 1/8".

X2 on bladespeek's post-- in my experience carbons respond very quickly to cutting--- go slow no more than 1/4 inch once you get close.  I also foot the gts and they take a lot of abuse once footed.

Cyclic-Rivers

30 inch arrow with a 225 point and standard insert. Shooting it from a  45 lb Grizzly and drawing 29 inches so I guess its shooting about 48 lbs.  I have not had better flight from any bow or arrow combo... ever...

47#s at 25-1/2" Toelke Super D, may draw a touch over that.

29"BOP,  50 grain insert, 175 gr broadhead
I just recently changed to 15/35s, right at 10 grains per pound

randy grider

Full length, 100 grain brass insert and 125 grain points. flys good for me from 40-55 # draw weight bows. It is a tad stiff for 40# and under, but it just encourages me to lengthen my draw to make them fly better.
its me, against me.

STICKBENDER98

I shoot 3555s out of my BW 51@ 28" cut to 29" with 225 grain up front they fly great for me. As stated above they respond well to being shortened, so take it slow. I shoot 3 5" parabolic on them also.
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

jt85

Exact same arrow set up as STICKBENDER98 out of my Holm Made River Runner 49# @ 27", and out of my Zipper Nitro 51# @ 28" same arrows only cut to 29 1/2"

BEN

I shoot a 53# MOAB longbow but only draw 27".

I use the 3555 GT's at 28.5" long, w/150 gr. head, and 100 gr insert.
Back end varies and don't seem to affect flight . I have some arrows w/wraps; practice arrows have 4" parabolics, and hunting arrows have 5" shields.
