Anyone else have this problem? I am consequently shooting to low at targets close to the ground. Seems like I might have a problem with calculating the distance or something. I either shoot a little bit too low, or a little bit too high, when out stumping. Shooting at my range, this is not a problem. But there my target is hanging four feet over the ground. Seems like targets at ground level are much harder to hit...

Make sure your bending at the waist to get to the low shot and not dropping your arm.  If you drop your arm you will shorten you draw and cause low shots.

If you shoot the range regularly your brain has it wired. The stumping is 'new'. I also agree completely with what Wingnut said.

I agree with Bjorn, if I target shoot a bunch then try to stump I'm always off a bit, it's taught me to shoot a variety of targets

For me, It usually means I'm dropping my bow arm on release.

When I first started shooting stick bows I had the same problem. I talked with a very fine gentleman who shot trad. and he told me to get down on my knees or the same level as the target.

After a while you will adjust without kneeling or crouching down.

^ this is my favorite method for ground shots.

One of the two things mentioned above by others...
dropping your bow arm at release (poor follow through) OR not bending at the waist resulting in a shorter than usual draw.

There are so many little things that can make all the difference in the world!

Lot of good advice as always.    Think wingnut might be on to something... I'll try to be aware of that. Maybe shoot some tennis balls in my garden could be a way to go.

Yep if it just low targets you are not bending at the waist, if it is all then you are dropping your bow arm to watch the pretty arrow fly - this my personal favorite way to blow a shot.
