While mushrooming today, I found a nest of turkey eggs.

I also found a new fawn, barely dry.

These are two of my favorite bowhunting activities and it is always good to see renewal in person.

I have never found a turkey nest. That would be cool! The fawns are starting to drop around here too.

I was standing in some real tight cover, scanning around for mushrooms when the hen, unseen by me, busted about six feet away from me, going vertical and nearly causing a heart attack! Apparently my standing still long enough finally made her nervous enough to jump.
