I think these guys hit the nail on the head.  Mr. Dye is a master of his craft.

My Trails End recurve is being finished by Dale now and will ship on/about the 20th! He is definitely old school, no website, prefers a check, sends hand written confirmation letters, and is very friendly and helpful on the phone. He has a year long wait that  should be well worth it!
