I am new to Trad Gang and thought I would write about my first longbow. I received my Toelke Super D last week and I am impressed. Its 66" long and 48lbs@28" draw. It has a kingwood riser with quilted maple limbs. My drawlength is 26". I have been shopping for a D shaped/ Hill style bow and the Supeer D did not disappoint. The Super D has slight back set limbs and a locater grip. This bow is light in the hand, smooth, quiet, fast and for me, easy to shoot. The Super D has less hand shock than my recurve. I probably shot over two hundred arrows form it yesterday. I have been shooting Beeman Centershot carbons and am eagerly awaiting wooden arrows form Elte Arrows. Dan was great to deal with and shipped this bow fast. I would highly recommend the Super D. I hope to get proficient enough to take a white tail later this fall.

Great bows .........enjoy your journey!!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I couldn't agree more about the Super Ds manners, it is all I shoot any more and I.M.O. a finer D shaped longbow can't be found. By the way, I've never shot anything through mine except wood, I believe you'll like them.

I have an affinity for the same bow. Probably on my fifth Super D right now, went down in poundage. The bows are perfectly balanced in the hand and very slim. All of their bows are phenomenal in my opinion. With a 26" draw, you should look into their new Pika. I checked one out at the Libby shoot. Very very nice bow!
