Would a broadhead with a ratio of greater than 3:1 be more efficient?

I have lots of time, and if I can pull it again an archery setup capable of launching heads in excess of 500 grains.  That means that I can shoot heads longer than three inches.  Or a head that's two inches wide and six long.  Would these be worth it?  I have a lot of time here in the hospital, so I'm sure I could run the numbers for max efficiency if the idea is sound.

I'm on a lot of heavy drugs, so if this is stupid don't get too mad.  The idea just kind of hit me after my afternoon Dilaudid shot.

I think you could do the same work with say a simmons head , not sure if longer would help or make it harder to get true alignment.

I thought about that, but I use tanged heads on concentrically drilled shafts almost 1/2" in diameter.  These are some monster arrows.

That is a lot of surface area.  I would think you had better have a very well tuned setup, and very good materials.

Ed if your able to get back to your true long draw length I think there is a feasibility for folks like you.

For us short draw length old farts not so much.

Happy drawing.

It is used by African and South american hunting societies all the time.   Has worked for them for centuries, why not for you ?
