I am just wondering what the difference is between 3 fletched arrows and 4 fletched. I am looking at getting or making (for the fist time) some 4 fletched arrows and wondering if there is a benefit to either one?

I shoot both and cannot really tell a diff. I shoot 5 1/2" LW parobolic 3 fletch and 5" LW parobolic 4 fletch. The one advantage to 4 fletch is that you do not have to look or feel for the indicator as it does not matter how you nock it.JMHO.

Very little difference. You will notice better flight with most broadheads. It will stabilize the arrow quicker. I notice a little more drop on long rande shots which explains the extra drag the extra feather gives. In all hardly noticeable.

I use 4-4" fletch. That way when I chop them I always get two fletch from one full length feather. I have a total of 16" of fletch. If you use 3-5.5" you have 16.5". I like to get the most out of my feathers.

the 4 4" will be quieter than the taller 5 or 5.5"

I shoot both, and to tell you the truth i don't see much difference in the way they fly. The one
big advantage to 4 is visibility. They are alot
easier to see in flight.

Yes.

I like four.  They are stable and easy to see and I've lost the three feather thingy for my jig so four it is.  :-D

I've played around with this over the years and keep returning to 4" x 4 fletch parabolic. I set mine at 75x105. For me, nothing straightens a broadhead hunting arrow out quicker. At the distances I shoot, I don't realize an appreciable drop in speed or trajectory. CKruse
