That is a lovely bow, I've owned one for a few years now and it's drawn blood on several occasions.  It's on the rack now waiting for the time (not far off) when I need a lighter bow. In the interim I'm shooting an Elkhart by Mr. Coffey.  While you may easily call him, he's a great guy to talk to.  (Google Javaman Archery).

Mine shoots well at 7.25", shooting 29.5" Axis 400 with 50 grn inserts and 160 grn grizzlies.

Good luck!

I should add........ my Assyrian is 51#@28"

I bet that bow at 51# is slinging a arrow pretty quick !

I can't wait to get my Helms Deep late summer/early fall. I met Greg for the first time at the K'zoo Trad Expo and had a great time shooting his bows and talking with him.

One thing I don't understand is why the question isn't asked first of the bowyer. The question shows up here so often. I could understand if the bow was from a bowyer no longer with us, but so many of the bows showing up here are from bowyers who are also Trad Gang members. I have to think they have a very good idea of the best brace height range for their bows.

Well, I just saw Greg's response, so I guess this is a bit late and somewhat redundant, but I'll post it anyway.

There's times I'll ask here rather than call the bowyer - he/she might be busy making your bow!
That said, I very much appreciate the help, and patience, bowyers have offered when I do need to ask.

You're right, of course. If they spend all their time on the phone they can't be building bows. And that's what we want them doing   :)
