Wow! There were so many good names suggested that it was almost impossible to pick a clear winner. We anguished over whether to go with an Indian chief name like Geronimo or Cochise, or maybe an Indian name for eagle or horse. Eagle's Nest was considered, but because that was the name of Adolph Hitler's resort in Germany, we decided against it. A lot of the Indian names were difficult to pronounce. A couple of names considered were Apache Eagle, American Eagle,  Golden Eagle, and Patriot. Right now I believe I'll punt the ball and come back tomorrow with the name.

Well, it's time to choose. We love some of the Native American words for animals, the different tribes, and the names of their chiefs. There are so many names that we would like to use. After a lot of effort, the name decided on was "Cochise". He was a great leader of a great nation. The winner is "sleepyhollow" or Steve Willsea, who suggested this name on the first page of this thread.

Steve, you can claim your quiver by donating $50.00 to the St. Jude's Auction. When that is done just let us know what colors you want, etc.

Karen and I would like to thank everyone who participated. It was obvious that some did a little research for this, and a little thought. We would like to show our appreciation by offering a 10% discount toward purchase of one of these "Cochise" quivers to anyone who participated by suggesting a name. This would be valid until June 1, 2015.

We(EFA)will also donate two "Cochise" quivers to the St. Jude Auction and urge everyone to support the St. Jude Auction and the moderators who make it possible.

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Thank you Don and Karen, it is an honor.         I wonder if I have to wait until the bids open to make the donation, does anyone know?
Don what colors are available?

2fletch

Steve, I'd suggest that you contact Terry Green or one of the moderators to arrange payment. Right now we have done them in two shades of brown, and the green and brown quivers shown on the thread. We have also done some in red and black, and one with a green front and the rest in a reddish brown. We are still looking at different color combinations. We would use natural color artificial sinew in most combinations.

2fletch

We now have one of these quivers on the St. Jude Auction site. We will probably put another one on there after we decide what color combination to use. Remember it's for the kids.

sleepyhollow

Will be making that donation as soon as the auctions open !!, think I want one like the top pic on page one, the dark brown with the lighter brown insert    :bigsmyl:
