Bear in mind, I read this on the internet.  Could be true, could be "internet".

The Catawba religion has a creator (Manatou), and sometimes is said to have a trinity. This trinity consists of Manatou, the creator; Kaia, the turtle; and a third being sometimes said to be the son of Manatou

So, in a nutshell, turtle.  Not exactly what you were expecting but something about it being part of a native holy trinity, the hare and the tortoise, tortoise shell covering your arrows.......well, that's how my brain works.

Tomorrow will decide what name is to be used. The Tuesday night shooters (the committee) will be called on to help pick the winner. Remember, the winner will get one of these quivers in return for a $50.00 donation to St. Jude. and through Tradgang. A chance to help the kids and own a very nice quiver is what you get. If you have any last minute ideas bring them up now. It's just today and tomorrow. Thanks.                                            :archer2:

How about the "Kaw" or "Kansa"?

Although my family has rumors of Kaw blood, nothing can be proven. And I just recently found out that this tribe is officially considered extinct, since around the year 2000, when the last "bona fide" member of the tribe passed away. Would be a cool tribute to yet another lost nation.
