Had my Longbow over a year now and I shoot it above average I'd say but just not as consistent as I would like. So tonight I dusted off my old bear grizzly hasn't been shot since I got the long bow and I shot the BEST I have in a long time. It. Is a heavier bow and maybe its because I figured out my form better since then but. I don't know. Does this ever happen to you guys and gals???

All the time. That's why I don't sell any of my bows. 6 months from now, it might be the best shooter that I own.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

Seems it happens to me, always with my grizzly!

Grizzlys are phenomenal shooters!  they seem to have a tremendous ability to make a wide variety of shooters look good.  Thus the nickname, "the working man's bow"

Same thing happened to me!  I put down the old K-mag for about three months to shoot a bran new fancy Montana longbow, when I picked up the K-mag again on a whim, I destroyed two arrows it was grouping so tight.

Weird.

I thought it was only me !

Something similar just happened to me. I was not shooting my D and R real well and I decided to try a bow that I had decided that the poundage was a bit heavy and the draw a bit too stiff for me and I just stacked the arrows on top of each other. I got myself a go to bow. Forget how it feels and look to how it shoots. I just need that bit of extra back tension to shoot.

God bless, Steve

That always happens when i shoot a low poundage bow for awhile, and go back to the heavier draw weight. I think it's because you always get off the string cleaner with heavier draw weight.

Must be something in the air. I had the same experience with my 72 Bear SK a few weeks ago. I had gotten a new B55 string for it. Took it along to range but forgot arrows for it. Shot it with over spined arrows anyway. Best round of the day, go figure.

I've been playing with a bow about 6 or 7 pounds lighter than my regular longbow.  Strung up my heavier bow the other day and immediately noticed I had improved -- can't put it down now.  Maybe the lighter bow helped me refresh/ learn something my form had been lacking...
