Ground blind bow holder, anyone?

I have a double bull blind, recurve model.

I hate just laying my bow against the wall waiting for birds.  I would rather have some kind of holder, with the bow at the ready.

My recurve is 60". Anyone have such a setup?? Any help or better ideas would be appreciated.

Lancaster has them, work pretty well if you tie them on.

That's a great question.  I'll be watching this thread as I am interested also.

These should work I guess as well, though it's probably designed for a compound.

I've used the ones for compounds and bent them as needed. Works fine w/ a little adjustment.

I have seen several, but like you, when I use a blind, I just lean the bow.

I last season I actually was ground hunting and found a perfect little stick for such a purpose. It worked so well i brought it home with me. Whittled a tip and shaved some bark off to clean it up. Carried it with me on numerous hunts on my pack. Sounds jenky, but it was free and when I eventually forgot to grab it I didn't mind losing it. Will do it in the future as well.

I use the third hand bow holder. It was recommended to me by a member on this forum. The Third Hand Archery website shows the holder being used with a compound, but it works great with my longbows.
Hope this helps.

I have the type that stick in the ground but don't really care for them for my recurve.  I have seen one somewhere that is a hanger style that clips into the roof poles and thought it looked like a great idea.  Now that you're reminded me I need to see if I can find where I had seen it and get one for myself.  If can find a link I'll let you know.

I use a length of small diameter cord, affixed to the top roof hub.I double knot the bottom of the loop, and place the knot between the string and limb.Holds bow right in front of you,and very little movement is needed to free the bow, from the loop.

Well that was easy.  Cabelas is where I saw it.  I'm sending you a link.

I have one that I use in my backyard practice range. It works for recurves and long bows. This coming turkey season I'll be hunting out of a Hidden Hunter blind and will use this.
May your friends be as many as the promises you keep.

I'm not very experienced hunting from a blind, but what I have done, is use one of those little fold out seats. I just lay my bow on it.

meathead

Check out the one HME sells. It's the one that I like.

stagetek

Thanks meathead. Just bought one. I have the single stake one, but in wet soil it doesn't work well. Hopefully the double spike version I just bought will be better.

Do you have a pick of the ones you make.

I shoot right handed and find that my left hand is a great bow holder  :) .
