I have cut back on the number of days I shoot and it seems I shoot better now. I may shoot 2 days a week. But when I shoot, I shoot very well. Go figure.
If you profess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9

Maybe it gives you time to forget your bad habits? maybe because you are shooting less you are concentrating more when you are shooting? I'm quite sure someone with a lot more wisdom than myself will have some reasoning.

I shoot everyday...but only a few arrows. If i shoot 20-30 arrows I get sloppy. My mind can only concentrate fully on the target for 5-6 shots...then I put it away for a couple hours and come back and do it again.
Aim small...Miss small!!

I do the same thing KyStickbow does. Sometimes only 2 or 3 shots at a time.

Kinda like that for me. Fewer arrows, but shoot often. Out for a rove, I can take my time walking between shots, and keep my concentration better. Might be out for an hour or two, but I don't lose focus.

Me too. I got into the habit due to bad rotator cuffs, but ended up liking shooting a few, taking a break, and so on. It puts me in the right frame of mind for hunting too. Take one arrow and put it where it counts, them come back in a while and do it again.

I am convinced that overshooting is one of the worst things we do to ourselves.  It reminds me of so many cyclists and runners that are always "over-trained".  I believe for the hunting archer the more you can vary the shot scenario the better off you are.

Also you may not feel it or admit it but shooting alot hurts muscles and fingers...time to rest really helps. Think about it even the best athletes rest and work alternate muscle groups.

I stop shooting for one month....June....time to chase Smallmouths and Largmouths plus a few Walleyes. Feels good when I start shooting again.

The more I shoot the more fun I have, generally. When I go out and fling some arrows I cut down on the numbers by shooting at 40-50 yards; less walking time.

I shoot 3-4 days per week. Work gets in the way.    :biglaugh:
I might shoot 20 or 60, but always stop on a well shot target, even if i have only shot a dozen arrows. I agree quality over quanity.

Thank you

For me 2 days a week isn't enough but I like shooting bows over 60lbs. I feel to shoot heavy draw weight bows, one must shoot frequent enough to keep in shooting shape.
