Anyone prefer a thin shooting glove?

If so, which one?  I was shooting earlier and messed around with shooting bare fingers.  I immediately noticed a cleaner release and better arrow flight.  I've always shot a cordovon glove...got me thinking.

I use to shoot with the Berlin glove but switched over to Damascus. I like the Damascus better, seem to have more control over my string and my release is cleaner.

I did for a long time. Used the Damascus glove as well. I moved to a tab for most of my shooting. Gloves are just to hot in the summer for me. They also streached to much.

Yep.  Thinner the better.  I like Damascus gloves.  No problems with stretching for me.

OK, so I have a dumb question.  Is a Damascus glove the brand name or just the style and/or material it's made out of?

halfseminole

Brand.  My wife has one, she loves it.

I like the American Leathers Big Shot Crossover.  It's kind of a medium thickness.  It to me does a great job of protecting my fingers while also not robbing me of string feel.

For those of you who shoot Damascus, how durable are they?

Tom at Kimsha makes a relatively thin glove that I like. You get a real nice feel on the string.

I've used Damascus gloves for the last 20 years. I shoot almost everyday so I've gone through a lot of them. Since they've stopped making them in the USA the quality and fit is hit or miss. In my opinion they're nothing like they used to be. Went to Gregg Coffey's place to drop off some wood for a bow and shot a few that he'd recently buillt to take to the Traditional Bowhunters Expo in Kalamazoo. Didn't take a glove with me but Gregg had a Kustom King Black Glove that Tim Cosgrove from Kustom King had given him. Really liked it so I ordered a couple. Took awhile to get use to it but really liking it now, very durable, a little thicker than a Damascus with a slick, clean release. Should outlast the Damascus gloves 10 to 1.

I like Damascus gloves. Wish they made them like they used too. The newer ones are pretty thin.

I'll second that, been shooting mine since the  expo

Black Widow makes a glove they call the stick tite that is a different design than most gloves. The stalls don't work off your fingers like most gloves and the leather is a very good quality. I've been shooting the same one for I think 5 years now and it's still in great shape. I did have to modify the bottom of the stalls a bit as they are pretty long and didn't let my fingers bend right.I would say the leather is medium thickness but yo can still feel the string well. I ordered the super glove that had the overlays but those got removed as it was too much thickness. I shoot 60# and the regular glove is enough protection.

I've used those thin buckskin gloves for years and always liked them even though they wore out pretty quick if you do a lot of shooting..... But....

I just recently found an excellent tab that i really like for 3 under style. I'm getting a much cleaner release than i ever did using a glove.

Tickbait

Kirk, what kind of tab is it?  Since I may be trying another glove, I might as well try a thinner tab, too.  Thanks.
