A funny idea dropped into my head the other day, on how to make a really cheap fieldtarget. This is what I made -an old basketball filled with builders foam. A little on the light side, but has aweome stopping power.

Did you use the liquid foam that swells up as it cures? If so how long did you let it cure so that it isn't sticky inside? Cool idea!
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

It was the kind that comes in a spraycan. I gave it a couple of days, and it seems to be cured. No sticky stuff on my arrows when I pull them out.

Cool idea. I've done just the B ball.  Works ok. But the foam core is the icing on the cake!!!

That would probably work with any type of ball that is inflated .
Neat idea .

I like take 1/2 gallon milk cartons and filled them up with the same foam.  I spread them out around the woods that surround my hose.  When you fill them stick a cord it there so you can hang them from a tree or bush.  Great stumping type target.

Mr. fingers

do you use blunts as well as feild points?

njloco

If you use a soccer ball, you'll have more of a specific spot as they have marked sections.

No, I only shoot fieldpoints at it.

Be careful for deflections when shooting at rubber coated balls. Even empty plastic milk jugs can deflect arrows at incredible angles.

I buy the collapsible turkey decoys at the end of the season for 5 or 6 bucks.  Fill two or three of them halfway with one can of foam.  Let dry a day and fill them the rest of the way the next day and let dry a couple of days.  You won't find a much cheaper 3D target.
