Our local DNR officers are both good guys. The only people who have a problem with them are the ones who got busted. Don't blame them for doing their job.

What a great 6 point. It wouldn't be legal in Mo. tho. I could still shoot at it. The way I shoot, I wouldn't have to worry.   :scared:

Nice deer.    I'm curious.  If that deer is illegal because it has too few points. . .  what makes anybody think it is OK to shoot it, for any other extenuating circumstance and also that the CO SHOULD even consider other circumstances ?

It is not like the rule is 125" and this was 123" and you had to mentally guess that.  We are talking 6 visible points. . .  one, two, three .... that is two whole points short (33%) of legal.

On another note. . Darwin at his finest. that is a very good genetic evolution towards survival in that state / area.  Stands to reason that over time, the herd will change to reflect this trait.

That is a dandy 6 for sure but no buck is worth the risk to have my ability to hunt taken away (and potential fine) to shoot it.  Would be interesting to hear from a credible person, DNR Officer, on how they would really handle it if someone choose to take the risk and shoot it...even with a really good story why they mistook it as an 8.

Im glad we dont have those restrictions. But we can only take one buck for the season. So if he came after I had killed my buck I would just hope we crossed paths the next season. Thats a trophy in itself just finding the remains but would like to have seen him on the hoof.

Glad Texas only has a 13" restriction on bucks.
