Have you looked into Flip Pac made by Six Pac?  The top of your cab height shell flips open like a suit case and instantly provides a full size bed and another for kids. Just as fast to hing closed and you are on the road. Can use the bed of the truck for all your stuff, including built in stove, refrigerator, storage  and seating. Does not cost anywhere near $18,000.  I think it is about $6,000.  They have one to fit any size truck bed.

Scott, I have not...thanks for the tip...

Unfortunately adventure trailers jacked the price up. Hoping that Six Pac gets back in business and returns to manufacturing these. They are great units for hunters and outdoorsmen and have a cult-like following. If one is patient, can find them on craigslist. Scott

That jumping jack is a great idea....the tent is in the bottom and everything else goes tied down on top....and the best part is you get to sleep up off the ground....

bruce

Skip that goes by roadkill here on tradgang has a jumpinjack and it is a sweet trailer.camped with him many times and when my coleman wears out I will have a jumpinjack.

Yes...on my Safari...everything goes on top.  I have a pic somewhere I'll try and post. Boat...tree stands....coolers....feeders...chairs...all sorts of stuff can be lashed to the top.

$8000 for mine....they were 12,000....but make no mistake, they are over built and I'll try to list everything they came with when I get time.  There were for long term excursions into the brush...and even come with a wine cellar.  Nope, not kidding.

Articulating hitch, truck canting one way, camper canting the other.  Nose cone storage with lid prop, huge battery in nose cone....mounted lights front and back, movable lights that mount on safari rack bars where you want them...electric outlets....plug in for generator....2-20 gallon tanks for potable water and spicketts on both sides of trailer....pull out table under safari rack....swing out cabinets for items that come with camper(forks, spoons, knives, ladle, spatula, steak knives, carving knife, BBQ fork, can opener, coffee mugs, classes, plates, pots n pans, bowls, and heck if I can remember it all)...HUGH main storage accessible from the rear and the top, shovel, blade axe/sling blade, latter, electric panel, shower spicket run by electricity from water tank.  8x8 Dome Tent, drop down tent....25 foot perimeter canopy, and two jerry can gas tanks.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.  I'll see if I can find the 'loaded' pic.

Terry...holy shiznet....that's amazing...it's all you ever need...

Any idea why we don't see many of them here? I'm looking but don't see where they are available..maybe I'm just not looking in the right place but it seems hard to find.

That's a smoking deal for 8 grand if you spend much time in the woods...

Terry Green

I'll see if I can find another pic..the one that's loaded on top...here it is sporting a boat....

Interesting. Is there a no frills US version....something heavy duty, lots of storage and quick set up/take down sleeping quarters? I need to think affordable!

mjh

Several manufactures of adventure style trailers in the USA....check the off road 4X4 forums and such....hard sided off road tear drops are available too....could have a way back country hunting set up with all kinds of  options...even solar power if yea want....lots of prices from mild to over the top....cool rigs none the less....

Russ Clagett

After looking at these trailers for the last couple days there is a large variety of them out there...

some are awesome for kitchen setup, others are great for sleeping quarters, but I'm not finding both...yet.

And some of these trailers cost as much as a new truck....

Terry Green

Oh, and a track for a pull our fridge. Utensil cabinets expand out for large prep table. (see pic again) Canopy allows you to cook and enjoy being outside in the rain instead of couped up in a tent all day.  4
wolf pack slide out latchable containers. Just some things to thing about.

Sleeping quarters no problem with Safari...air mattresses fit into tents nicely.

Problem is finding one...but if you could, you would probably find it at a deal.

How much are you wanting to pay?

Check out Turttle back trailers. They make me drool.

Checked out the Turtle Trailers....they look really nice, but are fancier than what I need. Basically what I'm interested in is a trailer that is quick and easy to set up/take down with sleeping quarters and plenty of gear/game storage. I'm really not interested in hot water or electrical hookups.
Any other suggestions?

4dogs

Buy an enclosed cargo trailer and build it to suit.

I'm starting to think 4dogs might have the best plan...

For what these awesome trailers cost I could buy a cargo trailer and do some work to it and possible save several thousand dollars...and maybe go on some hunts...?

Why Terry....is yours for sale...?
