I have been doing some reading on the ashby single bevel testings and there's great info and insight on the theory of the bone splitting and s shaped cutting I believe they will be in my quiver come fall! Does anyone have any good pics or blood trails they can share I am interested or comments on single bevel?

I'd like to see some to Jarrod. I was thinking about trying some single bevel. Hopefully quit a few have some pics. Thanks for starting this thread. God bless.

Don't have any pix, but I've been using Abowyer single bevels for a few years now, not exclusively, but I have killed several deer with them.

In two cases, they were good double lung hits, and the critters died  within 100 yards or less.  In the third, it was a liver, lung hit.  Of course, they would have died just as quickly with double bevel heads with those hits.  Blood trails were adequate, but to my eye not greater than a double bevel two blade would have produced.

That being said, I'll be shooting Abowyer brown bears on my elk arrows next fall.  Because the cutting edge angle is most acute with single bevel heads, it's possible to get them sharper than double bevel heads.

I'm not shooting single bevel heads for their bone splitting capabilities, though I may appreciate that someday.  I shoot them because i can get them extremely sharp.

This was my first single bevel harvest with my Two Tracks Flat bow and Grizzly Kodiak 190 Grain Head.I was impressed to say the least...

You can see the blood spot behind her back from where I turned her over.  It was a 50 yard recovery.  The shot was above heart and through lungs.  They were tore up in a mess when I gutted her.  Reminded me of damage from a gun kill.  I will be using these again this year.  I like the fact of being able to easily resharpen them also.

Texas hog, 11 yard shot only went 28 yards.  This is the entrance hole. Abowyer.

Small one at 14 yards, wedged in the lower jaw bone only went 30 yards.

I do not have simple pics loaded to add here but I do have a link to a thread that includes some harvests that show the effectiveness of the Abowyer single bevel heads... The buck later on in the thread was quite a penetration test and I'm glad the single bevel performed well! :-)

Something interesting...pix of a pass thru on a pig with a really sharp 4 blade buzzcut

It worked, pig didnt go too far but just the imprint of the 4 blades
Now I wish I had gotten closer pix of this but this is with a KME sharp 155 grain Grizzly, I hope you can see how much wider the cut is and how there is no 1 1/8 slit but a sizable gash it made going in

It's just one example but I found it very interesting.....
