I'm adding on to my home (man cave/living room) and I'd like to hang a couple of bows up but I'm not always thrilled with the racks I see for sale. So let's see some pics store bought and home made alike. I'm just looking for ideas. If any one wants to post "man cave" ideas that'll work too. The wood stove went in today and it's coming along I can't describe how excited Im getting I'm looking for trad archery/out doorsy ideas to make it Home.

Mike, after stydying some racks from another post a while back, I am going to make a simple one using multi-colored eastern red cedar boards and pegs. I have some boards stored in my wood shed from Oklahoma, my home state. I will use long enough wood dowells for the pegs so that two bows at a time can be placed across them and hand cut the dowells to look rustic.  Pretty simple, but it will look good enough for any room in the house as the red cedar has both blond and dark red colored grain and is just beautiful.

Bet there will be some good photos on your post that should help.

Here are a couple I built a few years ago.

One of the bow racks I liked was a mirror oval or rectangular and the guy put pegs in the frame around the mirror. I thought it it was classy.

Here's mine.  Made by a fellow from Ohio who makes them and markets them on Fleabay.  Very well made for the price, think it was $99 shipped.  It's real nice white oak or maple or whatever.  Sealed with a satin finish and each hook has a leather pad on it to prevent marring the bow limbs.  Love it.

Now this may seem kind of cheesy.... but these little buggers hold a bow very gently by the limb with little rubber jaws and do not scratch the limbs at all. I've been using them in my shop for years.  You can use them strung, or unstrung.

For $20.00 a pop... its a pretty good score.

I originally oops and said that I used 1x8s and 1x6s, but I've correct that mistake.

Read down and there is a link where you can download pdf's. One is the template that I used. It's kind of basic, but it has worked fine for me.

That tool holder is pretty dang nifty Kirk.  I may need to look into that for hanging the bows I'm shooting often.

LOL!  I don't mind having a few empty spaces, it makes removing the bows easier!  

That pic is from a little while ago, and is not up to date.  The Rose Oak Heritage T/D pass-around bow is gone.  Got one on order.  Absolutely brilliant bow.  The Phoenix is about to leave.  There's a Chinook on the rack currently, as well as a HH Redman dual-shelf.  Both are not in that pic.

tradarcher816 I just bought one similar to the one nineworlds9 has,and just took a propane torch and woodburning engraving tool to it. The torch you just carefully get it close enough to the rack while moving it side to side just to scorch the wood to your liking. Lightly sand and engrave it with whatever you like. I did turkey,deer tracks,and just lines/designs here and there. Spray it with poly..done. Ive got turkey feathers and leather strings with beads hanging off the bottom.  rat'

If you have (or can find) a front entryway mirror (yard sales are good), you can add those little decorative metal black shelf brackets from a hardware store to it and each shelf will hold 2 bows. I add soft velcro to the shelves to protect the limb finish.

They make for a nice rack...
