Guys Im telling you a Whippenstick bow is one heck of a bow!  His craftsmanship is top notch and attention is in every detail. I would say the only thing is his strings, I too don't care for endless loop strings. But a lot of guys do!

Nice!  Nice!  Nice!  You'll have to post a few pictures when you get it up and running with your new string.  Great choice of woods!     :clapper:

I dont understand whats the difference between endless loop that ken provides vs. Others? I just picked this new whippenstik to me from rat and its just a flat out awesome bow! Heck, ken doesnt even like his own flemish, thats why he makes the endless. Ken recommended charlie for different strings, but from what i have seen from this bow its amazing. Grats on your new bow! I to would have missed my bow, but my mailman knows i get long special packages :-)

My Whippenstick is the fastest bow I have ever shot through a chronograph and I have tried MANY this is including many top recurves.   Bill

Well, has the weather improved and allowed you to get out and shoot that new bow. I feel like I have been left hanging not having heard but a short initial reports.

Dan

Dan, Sorry to leave you hanging.....aside from my initial impressions that I posted on page 4 of this thread, I can tell you that while I don't have a chronograph my Phoenix shoots flatter and faster than any other bow I've ever owned. Not only that but with a Rhino string from Allen Shafer it is extremely quiet and hits my target like a ton of bricks. The only "problem" with it is that It likes a stiffer spines arrow so I can't shoot my GT trad 3555's out of it.  I had to buy some GT trad 5575's and after some playing around with point weights have settled on a combo that she likes. GT trad 5575's cut 30 1/2" ( I draw 29) 4 fletched with a 50grain brass insert +a 20 grain screw in weight and a 175grain field tip for a total weight of 560 grains.
The bow is only 48# at my draw.  It is a meticulously crafted, deadly accurate and whisper quiet recurve.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

I've shot this bow and shot nearly a foot high consistently right off the bat. Very flat shooting, accurate,  and quiet.

Basically what Fred said x2

Great Bow Fred. You will have to send me your Damon howatts since you will not be able to switch back and forth between the two   ;)    ;)    :p

And take it easy Dan, Fred leaves me hanging all the time. I had to practically beg him to let me shoot his bows....    :biglaugh:
