Very sad to hear this Craig......   :dunno:
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

yep it seems every year or two we get a rash of behavior outside of the rules for this forum.  Some decide to change their behavior and others decide to leave.  Either way it's best for the forum.

Good Luck to those that leave in search of something different and welcome to those that stay.

I think you should reconsider my friend. We value your input and conversation. We don't want to see good people like yourself leave.

I think this issue is mainly due to a lot of cabin fever that is built up with some of our members. Seems these internet sites heat up about now over some of the silliest things.

Tradgang is the only site where I like to visit now a days.I have lost all respect for the other big site due to the constant arguments and lack of respect that is displayed over there. I feel right at home here. I understand the moderation and direction that is being provided here versus the other sites. I believe that Tery and team is trying to keep things civilized and traditional archery related. I respect that.

trad gang rules are simple and easy for even kids to understand.

registrants get to see them and agree to them.

the rules link in is everyone's profile to use as a reference.

before you type up a post there's even a little reminder to please think before you type.

members get either a time out or get banned for continually and blatantly bypassing the rules.

we give them all every opportunity to get back on course, but when they don't, when they prefer using their rules of engagement, there's a penalty to pay.

it's almost predictable that most who unfortunately need to get banned immediately fly off an irate email to trad gang specifying that they knew they'd get banned, and why.

then they go off to another archery site and bemoan their fate, seeking commissary from others.

it is what is is, i s'pose.

Your house your rules, simple,I totally respect that. This is a site meant to help like minded people without putting someone down just to get your point across.Sorry Bill, but some GROWN UPS still need to be treated like kids.Wingnut you pretty much said it.Thanks again to the mods.

Well said Craig, I could not agree with you more. The country is in this sad state because Men have gone completely PC and turned in their "Man Cards" in an attempt to please and stroke the ego's of everyone around them. I served this country in war on more than one occasion, if we can not have free speech (every where) and I do not mean threats or disrespect but free honest opinions, then what the hell did we all serve for? Someone up top needs to reach out and bring Craig back and lets put this behind us.

TG is the only site I post topics/ comments on because of the standards of respect.  I know I can be wrong, but not ridiculed here.  Not about  "pc" " being a man", or sensitive but some people just aren't happy unless they're arguing and I don't need that.  If your form is perfect, if you never make a bad shot ( but tell me I don't belong in the woods because I did), you believe paradox doesn't exist in real life, and your arrows zip through shoulder blades when shot from low poundage bows-- find a way to share with me how I can get those results.  I do believe TG members are a cut above what I encounter on other sites where it's easy to be perfect from your keyboard.
Keep up the good work TG!

What was this thread started over?  I briefly scanned the first page when Terry first posted it but then kinda got distracted by other threads.  I'm on here almost obsessively LOL and somehow I missed out on the drama?? I know we have heated discussions sometimes where terms like "horsefeathers" get thrown around, LOL, but what happened?  Monkeyball, don't leave!!

I kind of sympathize with Monkeyball.   I think these " hail to the chief" threads do nothing to forward this forum.   Its airing dirty laundry as far as I'm concerned.

Every year this thread comes up again in some form....

Hail to Chief!   we cry.   I love this site but wish these would go the way of the wounded deer threads....

Rob DiStefano

there's a sincere, and unfortunate reason why a thread like this needs to get created every so often.

NO ONE wants to see a member get sent out the door.  that's just both crazy and sad!

NO ONE wants to have to remind SOME of the membership of the trad gang rules, but clearly its necessary every so often.

a thread like this is just a way of reminding SOME folks to please Please PLEASE follow the rules.

that's all, no more or less.

please do continue to enjoy the fellowship and excellent flow of traditional bowhunting information and talk that the trad gang forums provides to y'all.

thank you.

Your Chicken from McDonald's, Tyson Foods, or Perdue Farms spent most of it's life stuffed in a cage with three or four others, occupying a space about the size of a book page...None for me, thanks...

Rob,

You may THINK they are necessary.... I believe behind the scenes you and Terry deal with your share of grief.

But for the rest of us.... Keep it behind the scenes.

I would wager you turn off more people than you help with these threads.

I always read the rules each time I log onto this site,
"Expect to be respected if you decide to join the gang, because the rule of respect is held highest of the few rules that apply. Tradgang.com has a zero tolerance for disrespect directed to anyone."

I have felt disrespected more times by the admin than I have by any of the other member of this site.

I would also like my name removed from the member status.

I'm guilty...I'm guilty...I'm guilty.

I got mad and BASHED one of my box traps up against a tree and later that evening I STIRRED THE POT. Hey, I had too or the deer chili would have burned. Oh yeah, I calmed down and fixed the trap and the chili was GREAT.

No better trad site on the net and the people behind the scenes are top notch in my book.

No problem with this type thread coming up every now and then just to remind people how this place is run. WITH RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER.

Guru

Once again, some of you guys are just looking way to deep into this....listen to what Rob is saying please!

If threads like this offend there is nothing we can do about that, some folks naturally take things the wrong way... And some are just thin skinned and take everything personally.

Your guys have no idea what Rob and Terry deal with, and to a lesser extent any of us who help in some way or another!!

Unfortunately reminder threads really are necessary, just the reality of running a site like this and keeping it's focus in the right direction.

If you feel like it's wrong, again that's your opinion..  But thank goodness the majority of our membership understand,  are willing to help out on threads, following the guidelines,  and sending mod alerts when they see something that isn't right.

I think the thread is a good idea from time to time but it does seem to go on forever which seems to cause some discontent of it's own. Instead of a thread how about a "broadcast" PM to all members with a reminder? I do admire and thank the mods for their jobs of keeping this a civil site, no swearing, no sex. We do have ladies and underage people visiting here and that conduct is not acceptable.
I will fess up, this is only one of 6 trad sites I visit, each has something to offer as I am not just a " Bowhunter". There are times I may seek info on equipment or other types of archery and I do not feel welcome posting those questions here. But this is not the only site that makes me feel that way so that is a big reason I visit other sites.
thank for listening, nothing else to confess.

I see nothing wrong with a reminder thread now and then. If it bothers "you", then maybe your posting habits need attention! I believe that is the idea of this thread, getting all of us to walk the line a little tighter to keep trad gang the great site that it already is!
