Gents,

Looking for a little help. I am shooting a 60" 60lb @ 28" Robertson Vision Falcon. I am bareshafting some Easton Axis arrows and am stuck between a 340 and 400. Arrow is cut to 29" with a 75gn brass HIT insert and a 150 field point/broadhead. The charts are telling me for this combo I should be shooting a 340 but when I bareshaft from 12-15 feet the 340 shows way stiff and the 400 only a tad stiff. Both are hitting where I want them to. Does this seem right? I am thinking about going with the 400s but do not want to buy a dozen and find out I should have gone with the 340s! Thanks for the help!

I find charts to be a rough ballpark figure at best. If the 400's show a tad stiff, I'd go with them. When they get fletched, they'll stiffen more. Might try heavier inserts, lowering brace height? Thining the strike plate maybe?

I'm a wood arrow guy myself, so I only paper tune. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

400 sounds about right.  The 400's could be a little longer which would weaken the shafts a little.  Remember that it is always better to be just a little weak rather than too strong.

Are you drawing 28 inches? I shoot 400s cut to 29 inches with 250 grains up front out of my 52#@28 ACS. 400s shouldn't be stiff out of your 60# bow.

If they're hitting where you want them to, they're not showing stiff.  If they were too stiff, they would be impacting left of where you're aiming (if you're a right handed shooter).

Yeah I am drawing it right at 28". I figured the 400s were the best bet. Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it!
