Here's a pic for you.

It's just as good as a real pic, nothing but lots of white here. Over two feet of it, with more coming. I won't be finding sheds for a while.

Be some time before you can find a shed around here.......unless you watch it fall off......lol

Had a buddy call me tonight and said he found his first shed of the year.

Dang! Snow never stops me. I always hit the south facing hills first that's were the snow melts first, that's were the deer bed and that's were I find sheds every year.

Like this pick, no snow looks dry and warm found 4 sheds.

Strait across the valley still snow on the ground, that's were I would go and scout out the main trails and for next year. Maybe find a few sheds along the way too!

Guess I just like getting out of the house on a warm sunny day always like walking around in the snow it's a good work out. I know some of you have a bunch of snow that's different but it will melt one of these days. Just thought we might have a few shed hunters out already.

Dang I love your threads, Tracy!  I've been stumping six times since the deer season closed in early January.  I haven't found any sheds yet, but I'm on the hunt.

Wish I had a place to stump shoot without and hour drive.  And maybe some free time to go.  Retirement is only a few years away.

When you guys go "stumping" do you shoot field points or blunts??

Thanks Jake, I sure hop you find some soon. I'm getting first stages of cabin fever lol!

I've found some cool things while out shed hunting besides sheds. One time while out shed hunting in the snow again I kicked up a nice group of deer, I snapped off some quick picks but none were bucks. I was walking down a long hedge tree row at the time and noticed some really nice strait trees I thought would make great staves for bows. I looked  up and look what was looking back at me!

Got some good picks and video, backed up and down she came and slinked off thru the timber. Made my day    :D

Nice finds!  Too much white on the ground over here and no warm up in sight!

Never found a shed but often go out and search, do you guys tend to find them more in certain type area over others?

Find my first pair ever in Maine in early Jan. Snow had melted in a thaw. Now we have over two feet, horizontal snow still this morning with sub-zero wind chill.  Think I will read about your shed hunting rather than go out and look for any more.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
