I'm on my second Yellowjacket by Morrell. They last well for me. I also shoot thru a cheap 3d target about every 2 yrs.

Look at American Whitetail targets. Think it will be my next one. They make them for Broadheads only and Broadhead,field tip combos.

My personal opinion is that broadheads tear up 3D targets, no matter what.  The worst damage is from the 3 blade heads and they cut the heck out of the foam.  That said, you just have to expect to use it,abuse it, then throw out the leftovers and get a new one.  I have one  in the backyard that I should have tossed months ago but duct tape, foam insulation spray and a little cosmetic paint job has prolonged its miserable life to my wife's great despair.  One more step and it's a goner I think.

I'll bet there are more 3D deer targets running around with duct tape on them than there are deer in this country.

Sand box target for broadheads,
I built something similar to this and love it.

My best target was the Rhinehart 19-1 or whatever it was called.  Had multiple target faces that would turn the target on different sides.  A bit much getting arrows out sometimes, but it lasted the longest.  Shortest was the delta camp shotblocker or something like that.  It was in the first couple shooting sessions that the arrow was going through.  The Morrell yellow jacket BH target is ok, but really hard to get arrows out of for me most times.  I just mainly shoot field points anymore until season nears.  They just don't last with broadheads.

Maybe a guy should just make a giant duct tape ball for BHs then you could easily repair it.

I just bought a buck commander block at wal-mart. $35 . Not a commander fan but for the money I am impressed it has feild,point sides,and BH sides my bags take the lions share of my shooting but when the BHS go on  this target is the ticket. Price and performance is about right

I'm going to try this.  I have never dropped big money on a target, but I burn through them pretty quick.  Anyone tried this with any luck??

Ive bought some used mid 3d sections for about 5bucks each at some of our local 3d clubs. They are good enough for broadhead use.

I've been eyeballing the blob target.  Bldtrailer, how long have you had it and how well has it lasted?  Was shipping outrageous? Seems like I remember reading that the smallest one weighs like 100 pounds.

Dirt..no rocks/gravel.Sand  will take your finish off pronto.

I use a Rhinehart 18 side target and it works great. You can even kick it along and always have a spot to shot at no matter what the angle is. It takes a good beating too.

I use three small straw bales, banded together as tight as I can get them...  been on one set now for three years.  I keep is under a target roof so it stays dry.  When my arrows start passing through it, I re-band it, or after a few years buy new ones and start over.  I hate abusing my 3d's with broadheads.  Ive been shooting the straw bales for as long as Ive been shooting arrows, 35+ years.  It can be a little harder on fletching, but I don't mind that..  good luck.

I don't have straw bales, but deffinately agree ! You can't beat the price and treated correctly, they last a long time.

I have the 18 sided Rheinhart target, though very good but broad heads will make a mess out of it, believe me I found out !

Think about it, if your cutting through something, it's not going to sponge back and reconnect like your skin does because it's not alive. When you shoot a fieldtip, your punching a small hole and more or less just making the target material separate, so it has the ability to rebound back and somewhat fill the hole back in, at least that's my take on it.

3-4 yrs 80 pounds I use a hand truck as a stand/ to move it.
