I've always wanted to try a Hills Hornet broadhead on something but never worked up the nerve. I guess they seem small for big game to me. Well I put a 75 grain vintage Hornet on a 100 grain insert and screwed it into a AD Trad and went hunting this evening. It was incredible as I repeatedly rattled in nice bucks. This is that time of year here. To no avail the deer won the battle. I did manage to wade into a pile of pigs and come out with one though. I was very impressed with the Hornet. It performed very well even on shoulder bone. Here is my Sunday BBQ. Oh yea, thats my Brushbow, Artemis. CK

Curtis,
Congrats on the pig!
Beautiful limbs on the bow, what are the specs? Isn't the Hills broadhaed a 3 blade?

Jason R. Wesbrock

LOL! You weren't kidding in your email, were you? Congrats, man. That's not only quite a hog, but a heck of a good job calling your home run.

OK, Here's a pic of the vintage Hills Hornets. I say vintage but I can't actually tell you when they stopped making them. These are good steel and I'd say they're fairly old. A guy named Jerry Womble sent them to me for small game. The Hornet is between a 190 gr El Grande(modified of course) and a Sasquatch. This should give you some indication of size. I don't think I'm going to make a habbit of shooting these but it's fun to experiment. CK

:goldtooth:  Jason, I told Mark I thought I'd shoot a couple this weekend off the new place too. You should see the size of the bucks.     Sheesh, I can't shoot when I'm shaking so bad.  :D  CK

Curtis, you are a killin' machine. Way to go.

It's your turn real soon Danny! Just around the corner and we;ll be sucking down boudin, pork ribs, and chasin hawgs. Dang I can't wait. I'm headed back out this morning to rattle at some more bucks. They just about ran over the top of me yesterday. Hopefully more pics to follow. CK
