i have a climbing stand that i want to leave setup. i intend to buy this harness and want to know how the tether attaches. is it just a webbing loop that requires you to clip on with a carabiner on the lifeline? i've tried looking at youtube but can't find a detailed look at the tether.

i'm working out what climbing gear i need to buy that's all.

i intend to climb the tree in the stand, moving the lifeline up as i go. i would be attached to the lifeline via the tether with carabiner? and prussic. since i want to leave it setup i will descend the lifeline using the two prussic method. one prussic with two legs for my feet and one prussic with two legs to clip onto the linemans loops on the harness. i would ascend using the same method.

my buy list-
harness
10mm static rope for lifeline
9mm static rope for prussic loops.
3x carabiners (one for lifeline to tether and two for the prussic with two legs for clipping into the linemans loops on the harness.)

10mm is enough for for the lifeline, altho you could go more.  The Prussic line should be smaller than the mainlne, about 70% from most of what I've read.  You will want your mainline to be at least 10 feet longer than your stand height and anchored as high above you as you can reach.  My lifelines are 11.5 mm mainline and 7mm prussic cord.  There is cord made for prussics, supposedly it grips the mainline better than regular cord.

I've not tried your method of climbing, but please let us know how it works.

Sounds like your system will work. But, a couple of climbing sticks and a hang-on would be a lot easier, and perhaps safer.

Only thing I suggest is looking for one that doesn't have a "Made In China" tag.  I'm not comfortable trusting my life to things made in China.  They can't even make a boot that will stay together.
