Heading out in about 10 days or so.  Anybody got any last minute intel for me?  We are currently pouring over maps trying to pick a base camp and a plan of attack.  You can't tell much from google maps as far as up close eyes but I can certainly see that 34 A has a network of truck and ATV trails.  Anybody have any any advice for me?  Thanks ahead of time.

I am anxious to hear your tales of the hunt, so please keep notes

Good luck on your hunt.  i have hunted 35B for coues deer a few times.  The roads were pretty rough. We were up in the higher elevations for deer and I assume that you will be lower for javelina. It has been a few years since I have been down there, but we always stayed armed while bowhunting.

Look out for the two legged coyotes down there.
If you don't like cops, next time you need help, call Al Sharpton

There is a lot of Javis being shoot out here with a bow right now. I have a lot of friends on face B that are showing some nice ones. Not sure about 34A , but there is a lot of post here in AZ

For future plans is there a zone that you would recommend?

I'm headed down to 36A this week. My brother lives down there and has hunted that unit a little.  I will see if anything stands out as a starting point and let you know.

There are always pigs in Sawmill Canyon.  It will take work to find them it's not small.

Back in the day I lived there and hunted down there a lot....and it is not the same anymore.

Great hunting for sure..but...bring a handgun, ammo, and a cell phone.

Tracker12 I'm checking with all my friends that are hunting this year and will let you know the out come. If you plan of come to AZ to hunt let me know, may be we could hick up and I could get camp ready and waiting .

Etter, Take the Canoa exit from the 19 and follow the W. Elephant Head rd. to S. Canoa Dr. continue north to W. Hawk Way and continue east past the houses onto the state trust land and follow road to Elephant Head. Hunt the area between the houses and Elephant head. Good Luck

I have been putting off a trip to AZ for to long.  My brother lives in Scottsdale so I can do a little visiting and hunt at the same time.  I understand the dove hunting is pretty good down there this time of year also.

Is there a area in AZ that is considered better than others for pigs.

WDP, Im planning to hit that area tomorrow. Three of us have been hitting it hard for 2.5 days and havent even laid eyes on one yet. Im really shocked at how tough it has been to find them. We are finding mostly old sign and trying to check different elevations. If anybody has any current intel, this ga boy could sure use it. Thanks.

WDP

Etter, Be sure to stay close to the base of the rocks along Elephant head and the area west of it. Lots of cover for them to hide in but it doesn't take much.
Good Luck

Thanks for the tip. I worked the may draw from the gate all the way up to the first and biggest rock. I worked all around the base of the rocks and glassed a lot. I found a ton of javi sign. Most was older but some was fresh. Never laid eyes on one. Saw 7 deer and a coyote.

I never would have thought it would be so hard to find them.
