Wind D Ranch

I found the need to be in the timber today so I loaded my bow, a few snacks, and headed out.  It felt good to be in the woods and I had a great time listening to the birds, checking out possible tree stand locations for next year, and just enjoying the sights and sounds.  Suddenly, I found myself surrounded by a gang of ne'er-do-well squirrels of questionable upbringing.  The hoodlum squirrels circled me for quite a while, chattering insults and flipping their tails at me.  I thought about backing out but I was surrounded and my only choice was to stand my ground without showing fear.  After what seemed like an eternity, the apparent leader of the group decided to put an end to the two-legged intruder and therefore send a message to the rest of the world.  The boss squirrel began pawing the ground like a rabid rhino.  I knew what I had to do.  I reached for my quiver, pulled out a blunt tipped poplar arrow, and got ready.  I would either triumph this day or my widow would be rich from my insurance policies.  As the red-eyed squirrel began his charge, the world seemed to be in slow motion.  I don't remember the shot, I only vaguely remember a squeal of surprise as my arrow caused the red demon to breathe his last.  When the remaining members of the squirrel gang saw the fate of their leader, they felt a need to be elsewhere.  My wife will have to wait until another day to cash in those insurance policies.

Be safe.  Merry Christmas to all.

I'm sure I wouldn't be here today if the same happened to me. Good work under extreme pressure.
Life is like an arrow, the farther back you're pulled, the farther forward you'll end up.

LOL... Thanks for an enjoyable tale!  I need a day in the woods like that soon!
For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
