Thanks everyone. It definately was a special hunt. It was both our first elk. It was my first with traditional gear and it was my sons first elk. I couldn't be a prouder dad. Although my son had many chances to fill his deer tag he didn't get it done. Not by Lack Of trying. We had 3 does at 3 yards and under and my son didn't get a clear shot. He drew back numerous times but wouldn't let an arrow fly because of not having a clear shot. I watched him mature this season. He walked slower and really paid attention to noises,sign and his surroundings. He has become the hunter I wanted him to become.
