Thanks to my buddy Keith Zimmerman I have a bow that I've wanted since I saw Danny put pictures of it up on here 2 years ago! I got the bow Tuesday(11/18) and stared shooting it, I took it out Saturday(11/22) and got blood on the ground with it! The forecast for the morning was calling for freezing rain but I sat in this area last weekend and saw 20 different deer so I had to go. I went in friday after work and set up a new stand 50 yards to the west from the stand I sat the week before. All the deer I saw the week before work down this one path and never came within bow range of me. I got in the stand Saturday morning before legal shooting light and waited. Once it got light enough to shoot it started to rain lightly which then made a nice layer of ice on everything! I waited and waited and didn't see a deer, after 2 hours in the stand I thought the weather had the deer hunkered down. I looked behind me and there was a lone doe walking to me. She came from straight down wind which I'm glad I smoked my clothes the night before! She came right under my stand and sniffed around for a little bit then finally offered me a quartering away shot at 12 yards. I tried to stop her for the shot but she didn't stop so I shot her as she walked. I thought I hit a little high but I was pretty high in the tree, once I saw all the blood I knew she was done. I watched her go done from the stand! This is the blood trail I saw from the stand, those Simmons heads do a number on them    :bigsmyl:

I had my dream bow for 4 days and connected with a doe, I couldn't be happier!!!

She's already cut up and in the freezer and I'm hoping to get another deer on the ground soon. I used my Caribow Slynx 60" 62@28 and 250 grain Simmons Safari heads. The arrow went in about 2" under the spine behind the shoulder and came out against the front leg beside the brisket. The arrow ended up blowing through the opposite shoulder and breaking in half. I'm thankful to have good friends to share hunts with and a traditional family that helps make dreams come true.

As soon as I saw snow on the ground, the date of the hunt and the weather forecast I knew you were in Ohio.
Good for you on the bow and the doe.  Impressive red carpet in the woods you had there.

Wow that's great! Beautiful bow and deer!
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6

Love the Simmons they do open up a hole.... but that snow on the ground brings it to a whole nuther perspective (pun intended).  Great harvest!
