Does anyone have and experience with the Sky Eagle recurve. I have been thinking about getting a new recurve. I currently have a 68 inch HH Cheetah, that I love. But there are times when I would like to have a shorter more maneuverable bow. I am Open to suggestions.   Thanks

Hard to go wrong with a Martin Hunter...

Black Widow bows are fast and shoot well...take a look at them they do have a short version.

Ok I'm a newbie so I'm not sure how much my advice counts, but it seems to me there are a lot of people out there shooting different bows and most seem happy with what they are shooting. I also tend to think that the greates deciding factor in how well a bow shoots is the shooter not the bowyer. So pick one that feels good and appeals to your eye. Then shoot the heck out of it and be happy.  As a side note here's a story that is off topic but appropriate. I'm a guitar junkie and in my younger years I'd stress and obsess over all these little details of how guitars were built and set up, and I remember his one guitar tech who at the time seemed old and grouchy to me, he was listening to me and my friends ramble about guitar details and he just shook his head and said "fellas shut up and play yer guitars" looking back....he was a wise fellow.  I would guess any one of those 3 bows would be a fine addition, happy shopping!

If you like Sky, look into the Sky Thunder. I had an Eagle and it was a nice bow, though for me the grip was a little bulky, the Thunder is a solid performer, I don't know why this bow is not more popular. The bow has real classy lines and really seems to have above average speed. The irony was I was looking for another Eagle but when I called them they told me they had a Thunder, so I bought it. The price was mid range and well worth it. The bow reminds me of a Martin Hunter on steroids.

Ok, I have another question. Would a 62 inch highly reflex deflex longbow be as comfortable to shoot as a 62 inch recurve. I have a 29.5 inch draw. How would the performance between the two compare. I don't want to go any longer than 62 inches and I would love to have a 60inch. I already have two 68inch longbows.

Come to the Pre Spring Fling in February and shoot a few several bowyers set up there.

Even if 90% of the feedback endorses one bow over the other two which you have listed, only your own personal experience will dictate the legitimately proper and finest answer.

If you are shooting the HH Cheetah well and enjoy it, and are looking for a shorter bow with increased performance, IMHO skip the radical switch to a recurve and go with a highly r/d aka hybrid longbow with a nice low wrist locator grip.  The draw feel will feel more similar to what you are shooting now, it will be more powerful, and you can still push-pull it to string it if you like.  You will be pleased to say the least.

Nineworlds9 gave very good advice, he makes perfect sense to me! R/D longbows are the best of both worlds, longbow feel with performance and shorter.

10000 different archers will give you 10000 different inputs.

Of the three you listed I have a Martin Hunter. My draw length is 30.5 inches but it shoots very well. Smooth and quite. FWIW, I also have a RD Longbow, how brew, which I now shoot more but still like my Hunter.

As said above, pick the one you like the most, even it is just by looks. That goes a long way in enjoying your shooting.

buy a used BEAR kodiak or superkodiak...some were made at 64 inches for your long draw and  most were made at 60 inches which you are interested in...they are a good price and proven.

if you want to spend more money there are sooooo many great bowyers out there who will make what you want

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I am leaning towards a Ferguson elite Hunter now. There are so many wonderful bowers out there , its tough to choose. It would be nice to have one of each. A Bear takedown would be nice also!!!!!! ( decisions decisions )

My 2 cents:

You need to go to a shoot, or expo where "many" different bows will be available to shoot.

Only "you" can tell which bow will shoot the best for yourself.
