I am thinking of trying these shafts and am not sure of the hit inserts  Is there any other options or are the brass hit inserts the way to go?  Thanks. Bob

I shoot both the traditionals and FMJ's exclusively.

I always use the brass inserts at 75gr, but the standard aluminium inserts are still available. I beleive 3 rivers sells them.

I generally shoot the 400's at 28 1/4" with 75gr insert and a 2" 2016 footing and a 200gr head.

I shoot them with a 125 grain brass broadhead from 3R with a heavy broadhead.  It works for well for me.

I was skeptical about the hidden inserts too but I've been shooting the 75 brass inserts and 125 field tips,blunts, broadheads.Toughest carbon arrow I have shot.Even hit a few stones that mushroomed the points but the arrow was still fine. Great shafts!

I'll echo bowcrazybrad. I've used Gold Tip, Carbon Express, and Beeman carbons over the last decade and just got my first Axis Traditionals this year. They have been my favorite thus far.

Axis and FMJ's are the best all carbon out there in my opinion, especially for the money.

JB Weld the inserts in place, then you don't have to worry about anythign besides refletching them!

The Beaman Centershots come with the 50-75 brass insert and seem to be pretty close to the the Easton Axis shafts in durability and size.

The Beman Centershots are the same arrow, Easton=Beman.

Beman might be a touch lighter gpi.

Centershots are grewt arrows as well!

The Beman Bonecollectors are the old MFX...just a new name. They are not much different than Axis shafts and I use them interchangeably.

Just a heads up the Axis Trads and the Centershot arrows no longer come with the brass inserts aluminum only. Brass is extra kind of a bummer. This is new for the 2015 Easton line up I just got the catalog. A few changes and few arrows are gone. Like my favorite AC PRO HUNTERS

When Easton bought Beman they discontinued the MFX Classic and Black Max and came out with the Beman Centershot after the new Axis Traditional.The Centershot is in their new H-size line of arrows,larger diameter then an Axis.Axis and old MFX use a HIT insert with a .204 ID,the H-size is around .230-232 ID and use a regular type insert with a lip on it.They do make Axis inserts with a lip on them like a regular insert called Axis Deep Six inserts.They are stainless steel but you need to use Deep Six points with a 6/40 thread.The heaviest point available for them is 125 gr..Easton has come out with a lot of their new arrows in their H-size line like ST Epic,Bloodline,Wildthing and many others.

Good to know about the brass inserts. I shoot the Centershots with the 50 grain brass insert and 175 grain point/broadhead. Good thing I stocked up on the Centershots.
