you sure he wasn't funnin' ya?  That doesn't always come across well in texts,
Take a kid hunting!

I think he was messing with ya. If he was serious he would have asked you when you were gonna return your stands to him. Sounds too funny but as you can imagine I see similar behavior on a daily for the last 20 years.  If he was serious you oughta just give him a big hug and wish him good luck. Get you a NY license, Ive got millions of trees for you to climb. We'll have no hassles here on the land I hunt.

Bladepeek

I saw a figure of 10% a few replies back and I think that was the percentage of good guys.

I'm inclined to believe it's the other way around - that it is really a tiny, little percentage of people who are the bad guys. Isn't it a shame that such a small number of people can really screw up your day for you?

It's a shame there isn't someplace we can send them for remedial training. Like out in the desert with one canteen of water to share between them. They would deserve each other.

Now that there are not stands to sit in they may leave the property.

The more I'm around people the more I prefer animals!
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

KSdan

Unbelievable.  That would be worth putting in some editorial section of the local paper.  Upset you moved YOUR stands. . .   you have got to be kidding??
If we're not supposed to eat animals ... how come they're made out of meat? ~anon

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Man, that just stinks. Some guys have some real nerve!

Your selfishness may come back to bite you if one of them pulls you over.....  :biglaugh:

Once again...people never cease to amaze!

Public land with public stands..what a find

The not-so-nice side of me would be tempted to haul a couple ladder stands out there with the ladders hacksawed about about half way through...here ya go #!@*!..sit on this!

Crass!...on the part of the texter.

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

good thing you pulled them, just thing of the law suit and expense if one of them got hurt in one of there stands that belonged to you!

PICKNGRIN

The next thing would be this guy wanting your help dragging out the deer he shot from your stand!   :knothead:

You can't leave stands on public land in NC.  Kind of a pain but it eliminates a lot of problems.

SELFBOW19953

In Delaware you can leave your stand, but it becomes "first come, first served"-anyone can hunt the stand you left and you can't do anything about it.

Heh, I wonder if that works for cars left unlocked in public parking lots. If no one is in them, can you get in and hang out for awhile?

Hopefully it was meant as humorous, but either way I find it funny.  good luck on the new property!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Never mind it. I hear private property in RI can be pretty sweet.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I've actually been lucky and not had any drama on public land.  Aside from a few years hunting the family farm after getting married - I've been on public land.  i've had crowded areas and other hunters/walkers coming in on my set up but never anyone approaching me.

I actually had more drama on the family farm with the guys hunting the neighbors than I ever had on public land.

Hope you can find a better place to hunt.  No one likes dealing with that.
