Some of my first cap dipped.  Nothing fancy, but it works:

Trying to find pics of my most recent work.... still looking through Photobucket.

All the best,
Glenn
If at first you don't succeed.... buy newer / better equipment!

Some that I did for a friend of mine.  Simple cap dip and simple crest... but again - he was happy with the results.

heres my first attempt, sprayed with krylon and fiz can laquer after painting...or is it sposed to go before painting, but i hit the paint and all with laquer

This made me want to cry... probably my best work, and first day out - almost a robin hood.  Notice I said "almost".  I didn't even have something to show for it, besides a broken, useless arrow.  But I still like the way the cap dip and cresting came out.   :)

redneck----I really like what you did with the tape. I can't wait to see what they will look like when you have the process perfected!

Adam---thos ash arrows are NICE!! Did you make the points yourself?

redneckrampage

adam, what didja use for the tips, i may have to try it

j, thanx now the question do i hit the bare shaft with the laquer before the 3 colors of krylon.....

Hey, one thing to remember when you guys do your snake skin arrows. Make sure you put the scales pointed to the nock end of the arrow and not towards the point end. This could effect arrow flight. I have been making these snake skin arrows for about 10 years now and I made this mistake the first time I made them. Great looking arrows.

Nothing fancy...just what gets the job done...

The pink dip on the front of each shaft is merely to aid in visability...

Craig and Adam please tell us about your arrows and   broad heads. They are beautiful, as are everyones.

The first arrow is made with Coral snake skins, cedar shaft, pa turkey feathers, self nock, The nock and stone head are wrap with sinew from a moose that a friend shot up in the Yukon. I had someone make the arrowhead.  It's made out of Petrified Wood. It's the only thing I can't make at this time. Hopfully I will be able to make my own stone heads some day.

The rest of the arrows are the same except for the snake skins. One is a Bull Snake, Diamondback rattle snake, I have made them from all kinds of snakes skins.

jBiorn, redneck, & tomh, Those are ash shafts that I heat scorched, dyed, and crested.  The Prairie Rattler and Western Diamondback skins were all scraps from bow backing projects.  The feathers are thread wrapped fore and aft, and include a small length of thicker knotted thread bound beneath to serve as a thumb index.  The trade points are ala Raptor Archery.  I hafted and wrapped them with epoxy and stainless steel orthodontic wire.  A few of those arrows were either killed or went missing in action this archery season.  :^)

These are sitka spruce shafts with autumn color combo. Crown is Rustoleum, crest is water-based, then dipped one time with straight Helms Spar Urethane. They hold up real well to targets.
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

Hope these show well....

the two furthest left, against the wall; are both painted with a glow in the dark cover spray, all other colors are ACE brand paints. The heads are Montec 125's and slik tip field points, with a coupla bludgeons thrown in there.
Not in the same class with others here, but ...they're mine!      :goldtooth:
