Life goes on....our children, our grandchildren. Will they ever remember the sacrifices their grandfathers or great grandfathers made during WWII?

The Korean War Vets....Vietnam Vets....brave, courageous Americans fighting for our freedoms and the freedom of others. How can we ever forget the sacrifices or thank them enough. Now our troops in Iraq....brave men and women serving our country.

Demi Moore said it best in "A Few Good Men"....I like them because the stand on a wall with a gun and say nothing will harm you on my watch tonite"
Battle of the Bulge....my late father served and told many horrifying stories....I have the pictures to prove it. Holocaust pics also...We as Americans, here at Tradgang...Bowhunters, Husbands, Wives...are enjoying everything we have because of these men and women.

Please don't ever forget them. I will be at my Fathers and 3 uncles graves tomorrow afternoon. Placing a new flag at each headstone and kneeling down praying to these men and thanking them for making my life the way it is.....Please take a minute to bow your head and thank these vets...we owe them alot. I miss all these men, they taught me everything about the outdoors and made me and my cousins what we are today.

Thank You...and one day we'll all be reunited for one helluva bowhunt.....

HooYah! Joe. You forgot about the first Gulf conflict.

may the Lord smile on our boys in harms way. May the Lord help everyone find a quick resolution to this ridiculous conflict.

God Bless all you vets. God Bless all of the families of vets lost in combat.

Good post Joe.

A Veteran -- whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his, or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Thank You to all the Veterans out there.

Beautiful sentiments, Joe.
To all Veterans out there, past and present, thank you...

Freedom is not free!

I thank The Lord for each and every one of these brave men and women. Thier sacrifices, given by selfless choice, permit freedom loving people all over the world to live the lives they choose.

We must never forget those who paid for our freedom.

I have served my country for going on 36 years and still serve her today. 22 years US Navy and now US Customs and Border Protection protecting our borders trying to keep the terrorist at bay. I know no other job and am proud to do it. It is who I am.

I thank all Veterans living and dead for protecting our country and way of life. God bless them all.

Yep, if they hadn't done what they did, and made the sacrifices they made, we'd be living in a totally different world now. God bless em.

Thanks for bringing that up for remembrance.

I have an 83 year old WWII vet and his wife coming over to the house tomorrow for lunch.  I always thanked them, but when I realize that 1,500 of them die EVERY day, I had to get my rear into action and really talk to 'em.  Losing the greatest generation right before our eyes...

A great way to thank a veteran is vote for those who support the armed forces and the job they do. It is unfortunate the lack of support the Vets recieved during Viet Nam and it is also obvious the mentality and political affiliation these anti war, anti hunting, vegetarian, anti gun, hug a terrorist because he's misunderstood, educated individuals now belong to.

OB, strangely enough, that reminds me of when I was stationed in Germany (the 2nd time) and I used to have some long conversations with my landlord over a "bier" or two. He was a WWII  vet also, only he was on the "other" side. He didn't speak much English and I could only speak and understand a little German, but he would sit and  tell me about his days in the "afrika korps" under Rommel, and about his time in Italy and Russland (russia). It was kinda weird I thought because here I was drinkin a beer with a guy who was just forty some odd years ago firing bullets at my fellow country men(and possibly my Grandpa's and Great Uncles). As I got to know him however , I realized that he was just a regular guy caught up in a geopolitical conflict. I also realized at that time that a lot of good people on all sides had to suffer, sacrifice, and die for their country, regardless of their fanatical leaders at the time.
