I would love to make my own knife, but have no idea what type of steel to use, or where to get it.
Any help?

keith, i'm pretty new at knife building myself. i got some high carbon saw blades from my work to use. but i hear sawmill blades, files & lawnmower blades all work good. you can also buy blade blanks for not much money. but i enjoy doing all of it myself.

Those are some for sure sweet knives!!!!  Congrats on the gift and on the one you made.

Thanks for the info John. I was peeking around for a good build along, but couldn't find one.

Nice looking knives! I love to see handmade/homemade stuff, certainly one of a kind.
