Guys with two piece longbow or recurve

Do you have ,any problem with this system locket socket. Wobble, crunch, unstring bow  itself separated or anything like that?
Anything negative ?

Don't avoid manufacturer of your bow

Thanks for your reviews , is meaning a lot for me

I will post this photo JUST LIKE EXAMPLE  !

No issues- this system works great!  Big Jim and Cari-bow use it also.  Rock solid!  The only benefit that a Bow-bolt has vs this system is the extra weight.

No negatives to report.

I have a Big Jim and not a single issue. Great system.

I didn't love it as I was never 100% sure I was fully seated with the one I had.  Prefer the bow bolt.

Have 3 bows with this system.  I think it's the best take down method there is.

Got a Big Jim thunderchild with this system and I really like it. Very convenient as a quick no-tool takedown system. Bow-bolt is good to, especially with the extra weight it adds if you like extra mass in your riser.

I have a BW PLX T/D just like your picture.Works great no complaints, solid.Looks just like a one-piece,I like that!Feels like it added alittle mass weight.

I have 3 2 piece longbows.  They all work well.  2 have metal sleives one has the fiber.  I have a Big Jims, a Morrison, and a Wes Walace.

On my Big Jim Thunderchild no issues have arised, the only think you have to do is to lubrificate with Vaseline if it is too tight or use wax if it is too loose.

Hello:
I have the "locket-socket" design on both Black Widow and A&H Archery bows.  No problems, ever.  The design is as strong as a single piece bow.  Black Widow has an instructional DVD showing Ken Beck testing the joint's strength in a Hydraulic press.  The force needed to break the two-piece joint was the same as for its one-piece riser.

Kevin

I think the general consensus as I have seen it debated over the years is that a one piece bow should remain a one piece bow.  Two piece bows are conceived and designed as such from the beginning.  However there is a retrofit kit available from, I believe Fisk Archery.
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

BigJim

We sell the kits and I have instructions on our website or youtube to do it yourself. if you can build a bow, you can install this TD system.

I wish I could say that I invented this system but of course I did not.
I will say that if there was a better TD system out there, I'd be using it.

Many many hundred out there and counting with 0 failures.
Thanks, bigjim

I don't know what those are made of but, I had a Jack Harrison two piece like those shown above and it was made of carbon fiber, very strong and I never had a problem.

  • Gordy Morey 2pc. 68" R/D 55# @ 28"
  • Hoyt Pro Medalist, 70" 42# @ 28" (1963)
  • Bear Tamerlane 66" 30# @ 28" (1966)- for my better half
  • Bear Kodiak 60" 47# @ 28"(1965)
